The Importance of Women Foreign Correspondents
When you file from abroad, you later get a copy of the paper that your piece appeared in. There perhaps was an editorial railing against working women who leave home too young. Well never mind writing what you don't believe in. I got into sort of quite an amusing mess there, but it was quite fun. You know, it would have been very stupid to have had children. It would have been the end of my career. The ones I admired at the time were Claire Hollingworth and Martha Gellhorn.
