Getting Rid of Ming's With the Captain's Exam
I think getting rid of Ming's was huge, not just public relations own goal, but in terms of getting the squad on side. The whole issue with Gerard is that he just would not stick with a particular team. You see the games and Fulham were playing like a top half side against a newly promoted side. And it was ridiculous. How many of those Villa players don't we get into the Fulham side? It could have been way worse. They had a few little mini Olliwockens chances, but that was more or less it. He's almost bet the farm on getting someone like a Tigno in, because it's like a big player in there.
