The Soot of the Ninety-Fourth Plague
Soot is what causes the sores and boils. The side effect of enslaving israel would be the destruction of egypt. And making the atmosphere black, even just for a few minutes with soot, corresponds to the ninth plague. All the egyptians are warned that if they'll stay in their houses and put blood on their doorposts, they'll be spared the tenth plague. This order of having a plague of darkness and then a warning is prophetic.
