dan: When you look at where our society locates the problem today right not certainly not in sinful man um they would be very Rousseau-y and i guess in in this sense but i think it also this is why in political discourse we talk about things like every problem has to be a systemic problem yeah. The welfare state well if we can just alleviate poverty people in a certain class will be good they'll be restored to the original goodness what happens thoughdan we find is actually the opposite of thatwhat's interesting about this rusoian idea is that nobody that follows the philosophies of ruso is saying then become individuals in the wilderness yeah civilization is the problem.
