According to hawking, and i agree with it, they will evaporate away. Now, here comes the contentious issue. Initially, when hawking put forward this idea, he argued that the information that was swallowed by these black holes, is lost. This presents a violation of one of the basic quanto mechanical principles, called unitariety. Later on, many years later, he changed his mind and said: 'I am going along with most other physicists and say that information somehow escapes and is regained'
