Growing up in the segregated south during tha time period was enough for apen americans to have experienced violence. Apart from the, i mean, vilence, there was institutional discrimination. As nadolescent, he was forced to move to the back of the bus or to make way for white people to sit down at the front. To me, that was a daily reminder of your second class citizenship.
