Post Operative Care Ankle

Arthur desis' technique can involve plate and screw fixation, or a tibio talo calcanel. The optimal position will be neutral dorsal flexion with five to ten degrees of external rotation. Post operative care includes applying a casto splint for eight weeks. Progress weght bearing between eight and 12 weeks in a removable boot. Full weight bearing with an ankle brace at 12 weeks post top.
