The Implications of Studying Bureaucracy in Comparative Context
I was hoping if you could talk a little bit about the implications of studying bureaucracy in this highly localized and stratified way. I think that there's still limited research on how bureaucracies actually work in comparative context, so really sort of like fine-grade understandings. And what I found is a much more complicated picture. So for example, I found examples of bureaucrats who really were trying to do the right things when it came to effectively governing water but they were often trapped within larger structures.
