Before Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February, Kiev was celebrated for its cosmopolitan way of life. The recent missile attacks on the capital have obliterated any sense of normality that had been restored. Rolling blackouts for hours have become routine for many to prevent the energy grid from collapsing. If there's no power, sometimes there's no heating.
