Restoration Following Judgment in the Old Testament
Perry: In the old testament, you do see a pattern of restoration following judgment. So for instance, in jeremiah 30, you see god's people are going to face horrible judgment, but then it's followed by a wonderful salvation. Now we also see a similar pattern with the nations. It's one thing to say, ok that's god's covenant people, restoration follows judgment. But even in other places in jere Jeremiah, like the oracles against egypt, moab, amon and elam, they end with a promise of restoration.
