Why Should Food Be a Central Cultural Placement?
The notion that people of color hold food differently, like in their cultures, and that that predisposes them to being fatter is so deeply racialized. Why shouldn't food be an occasion? Why should it not be the central point of a celebration? It's such cyclical thinking like this is bad because it makes you fat, not because of any other reason.
