The End of the Midnight Curfew
New York's mayor declared a special set of rules just for his city. The federal government didn't take direct action to enforce the midnight curfew in new york or anywhere else. However, roosevelt ministruation did twist leguardia's arm by instructing the army and navy to crack down on after midnight revelry within their ranks. This meant that for the few establishments that did take advantage of that one a m closing time, doing so was no longer worth it.
