Are the Walking Sticks a Sign of Authority?
We don't know for sure that injury to the leg had anything to do with his death. We also have a lot of walking sticks in the tomb. So, you know, we can't argue that they were simply ceremonial. But then we know that cane sticks like this are symbols of seniority and authority. And we see routinely in in egyptian art in various different contexts, individuals holding sticks not because they need them to walk, but because they are a sign of of a certain status.
