Scammed Out of $21,000 Canadian Dollars
Ben Perkin's parents were able to quickly get $21,000 Canadian dollars from a bank. They send that money through a Bitcoin terminal over to where they need to send it. A few hours later, the real Ben Perkin makes his regular phone call to his parents just checking in. The scammers used AI to create a voice that sounded like me and social media to come up with enough information about me to convince them they were speaking to me.
