New Linux Backdoor Using DNS Over HTTPS Tunneling for Covert Command and Control
An Android Remote Access Trojan dubbed Gravity Rat has been found masquerading as messaging apps BingeChat and Chateco. A thread actor known as Shamel Gang, that's C-H-A-M-E-L gang, has been observed using a previously undocumented implant to backdoor Linux systems. The malware dubbed Shamel DOH by Stairwell is a C++ based tool for communicating via DNS over HTTPS tunneling otherwise known as DOH.
