The Structure of the Crusader States
A key economic factor in the kingdom's history or the crusader states history is their reliance on trade. Their biggest trading partners are the Italian cities of Venice, Pisa and Genoa. So they have a seat, not necessarily at sort of the formal decision making bodies, but their influence tells when it comes to making choices about what happens. The Knights Templar, Knights Hospitaller, technically they're part of the church. But given the sheer scale of their military establishment, they too get quite a significant say at what happens during this era.
