The Three Ages System
Archaeology wasn't even initially a science. It originally wasn't even an attempt to categorize history at all. Christian jurgenson thompson, he became the secretary of denmark's royal commission for the preservation of antiquities in 18 16. He basically started the modern system of classification, which was later built upon to create modern archaeology. So what exactly are these three ages and what inds them? I should start by noting that there are no hard and fast rules about where one age ends and another age begins. Not every civilization developed the same technologies at the same time.
