What Is the Best Part of Social Science?
No one really anticipated how stupid things could get about things like masks, whether yo were pro mask or anti mask. I think that a lot of people who were making decisions who perhaps weren't first in economics, misunderstood the extent to which a market economy is incredibly adaptive and responsive. The demonization of price gouging is a good example where people hate it even though there's a very strong argument for raising prices for certain things in an emergency situation.
