The Ideology and the Split Between the USA and the USSR
America and Britain were capitalist countries, democracies. The Soviet Union was a communist country that came out of World War I. One of the ideas it had was if communism was to succeed in the Soviet Union, it had to export that mentality into other countries. And so from the 20s and 30s, particularly onwards, when Stalin took over, this idea of worldwide communist revolution, took favor.
