The History of the Yugoslav Communist Party
There was no questioning of the political need and a political monopoly of the communist party in its role. The CP, which by the way has gained hundreds of thousands of members at that time, had a very high legitimacy. They also organized every summer international meetings, which were unbelievable in any other so-called communist countries. And concretely, as far as the economy is concerned, it was marked at the beginning by nationalization and centralization after the victory but was stateized after 1948 in different ways.
