The History of Li Zucheng
Li Zucheng was born in the great revolutionary town of Yanan in northern Shanxi. That's the place where Mao and the Communists ended up at the conclusion of the long march of 1934-35. Li had set himself up in Hunan province and began carrying out political work there, calling for all kinds of tax relief for the peasants. The ancient city of Kaifang, however, remained loyal to the Ming emperor and refused to accept Li Zucheng as their leader.
