Is Your Process Helping You?

I taught a course at the Stanford Business School and also in the undergraduate part of the university for more than 40 years. I've had thousands of students who write back to me saying, you know, thinking about these issues has really helped me down the line. When people make decisions on their own and don't use your process, where is it they tend to go wrong? Well, I think they haven't really gone through steps one and two. They have not clarified for themselves what it is they want.
