The state department says russia has secretly funnelled more than 300 million dollars to foreign political parties since 20 14 in an effort to influence elections. The money was often covertly sent to politicians and parties through think tanks, fate contracts, state owned enterprises and shell companies. And according to the new york times, russia has probably given even more that has gone undetected. A nearly one thousand page report from the republican lead senate intelligence committee on the russia investigation detailed how russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Donald trump's behalf.
