Are You a Psychoanalyst?

Tohts: I first read yowith butler in graduate school, when i was doing the under master's degree general theory. She also has a psychoanalytic streak, which can go a little bit where, you know, a little wild. Tohts: There is something to the idea we unconsciously embody an enact social scripts related to gender that i am sure is true. But i think she takes it to the extent that gender is only that, it is only the unconscious embodiment of a social script that creates the illusion of an essence.
