Why Do People Care About Liquid Alts?
Liquid alternatives are designed to bring hedge fund-like strategies that have proven diversification benefits. The real liquid alts market really took off in my mind around 2012, when fidelity gave money to a hedge fund firm called Arden. And so it really kicked off this arms race among fund management companies and there were 40 or 50 of these funds that were launched within the next two years.
