The Sekoia Tree in the Sierra Nevada National Park

There is something primeval about giant seqoias. 30 or forty people would have to link hands to hug the largest ones. The tallest are 90 meters high, that's like a 30 story tower block. Sekoias live so long because they are exquisitely adapted to their environment. But california's fires are changing. Many of the huge trees have been reduced to columns of charcoal.
