The Importance of Piety in Islam

Allah asa wajas says in multiple verses that we have preferred you over all of the people of their time. The jews then began saying that anybody who faces any direction other than beitul makhdis Allah will never be pleased with him and Allah will not accept from him. They said it is a part of piety to face jruslim and to this day they all face in that direction when they pray.
