Dhrupad's Sacrificial Fire Ritual

King Dhrupad and his wife adopted Trishtadumna at Draupadi as their son and daughter. The Pandava brothers were extremely curious to see Draupadi who, as part of the Brahmin, would be responsible for the destruction of the Kauravas. They felt an irresistible urge to see her and possibly win her at the Samvar as their bride. But they hesitated to express their wish to their mother.
