There were many major corruption cases that shocked britain. The impeachment process became very dramatic and theatrical. One of the other sort of major, scandalous trials held in parliament was of the governor general of of india,. It lasted from 17 86 its preliminary proceedings, and didn't finish till 17 95. You could even buy a ticket to go along and attend the trial of warren hastings. And these were really sought after. Even the fashionable ladies wanted to be there at the trial to look at how people were performing.
