Artificial Intelligence and the Cold War

Many of the early artificial intelligence projects and research were funded by a, by a us. Military spending during the cold war was used to fund these projects. At the end of the cold war, those projects also were cancelled as they were not seen as yielding any results. 30 years later, we now see a real resurgence in this. And right now military as massively investing in artificial intelligence again. What do these cycles mean? And what does it mean to rethink our ideas of technological evolution?
