Never Trust Anyone Over 30
When both of us were growing up, that was a saying, never trust anyone over 30. Most people are trying to sell you things they have an angle. It's very hard for you to discern who isn't on your side unless you do the work yourself and know what you're doing. The reason investors don't beat the market is not because we're not getting really great pitches all the time. People are still emotional. If you're cold and calculating, go back to what we talked about in the beginning where stocks are ownership shares and you can take advantage of the market.
