Henry the Eighth - The Succession of Six Wives
He was obsessed with securing a male heir to head off the danger of falling back into civil war again. He married his late husband's brother, who has now kind of taken up his role in the family. In at least one passage in the bible, it's commanded you must, if, if your brother dies, you must marry his widow. So that's what henry did. There are other passages in the bible that specifically prohibit this and say, never marry your brother's widow. That is incest. It canna just depends on which part of the bible you for and how you choose to reconcile these apparently contradictory statements.
