How to Make Soap?

An alkali is the opposite of an acid. On the pH scale, it has a high pH. And usually, when making soap, it comes in the form of lye. Lye you can get by chopping down some wood, specifically hardwood. You don't want softwood. Burning it, taking the ashes, boiling them, and then scraping off what floats to the top.
