B b c was busy buying up premises all round the country and trying to fit those premises so that it could disperse its staff. One of the main activities that was going on, highly secretively, was the transfer of staff to wood norton hall near evesham in worcestershire. The government has control over b b c in a way that i didn't before the declaration of war. It's subject to censorship. We have people sitting in studios called switch censors who are ready to turn off someone if they're speak into the microphone and they go off. When you have broadcasting which has to respond quickly to events, when you've got people who have to be delegated responsibility
