Nobody actually retiring on just that 4% rule without a few aces in the hole, be it a pension, a large cash position,. A real estate portfolio on top of that, a small business or whatever out there. So start with a 4% rule and be willing to adjust. If the market doesn't support it, maybe you can spend more than that if we get incredibly good markets for next decade.
