The History of Ballroom Dancing
In the 1930s, dance halls and cinemas were considered safe places for an established generation of unshapper and young women. The image that was created by Hollywood is the one that has remained as the enduring image of ballroom dancing today. By the 1960s, we start to see some waning of interest in ballroom dancing. Dancing could be exuberant and flamboyant again, and anything goes. So it's almost a kind of full circle from the early days.
