The AI liability directive allows the member states to go much further in their transposition. The Commission has taken a very traditional approach to product regulation by looking after the safety of the products and protecting people if they suffer injuries or damage to their property. But there is a whole new dimension which is relevant to consumers to our society at large about being discriminated for example, says Jean-Claude Junker.
