How to Treat a Vascular Necrosis With Pavlokarnis
There is an overall success rate of 90% for Pavlokarnis. Close reduction and spica casting should be performed under general anesthesia. An adductor tenotomy can be done to immobilize in 100 degrees of hip flexion and 45 degrees of abduction with neutral rotation for 3 months. A medial dipole of greater than 7 mm is associated with poor outcomes and avascular necrosis.
