The German Jewish Exiles in Spain
In 1931, at the beginning of the second Republic, there were 3,000 Jews in Spain. After Nazis came to power, approximately another 3,000 German Jewish exiles came to Spain. And it suited right-wing propaganda to label them all as communists. These labels were very convenient and lapped up.
