The Unintended Consequences of Base Erosion
The OECD says base erosion and profit sharing practices cost countries US $100 and $40 billion in lost revenue, annual numbers are just huge. The challenge here is that the tech system is from the early 1900s dealing with companies that haven't even been around for 50 years. And I'm sure they'll figure these things out over time. Yeah, and if we move to a more digital turn-the-knobs on a faster moving basis, you might solve some issues but there will undoubtedly be some surprise consequences.
