I didn't really want a career in the business and financial side of publishing. The corporate ladder would have taken me further away from the research. In 2004, I moved to Harvard as an academic administrator of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute. It was just at the time that human stem cell research became one of these sort of cultural wedges. But it ultimately wasn't the right fit, and so I left after 18 months to MIT UA. And while I did a stint as a private consultant and then moved to MIT, I was so recruited at Yakko. There was a McGovern Institute, the University of Illinois, directed by Bob Decimon,. He's really a brilliant neuroscientist
