The Ming Dynasty - A Brief History
In January 1368 Ju Yuan Zhang established the great Ming dynasty famously becoming as I already mentioned the second emperor since Liu Bang and 202 BCE to come from such humble beginnings and later found a dynasty. The early years of the Ming dynasty was all about cleaning house and getting rid of any leftover Yuan dynasty loyalists. Nine months after the founding of the dynasty in the south the Yuan capital of Dattu was taken. However when Ju Yuan Zhang took the city he renamed it to Beijing or northern peace. It lasted for 276 years from 1368 to 1644.
