How to Use a Kilowatt Meter to Save Money

A kilowatt meter can tell you how much power is being used by your appliances. The typical usage of an item with the drawing phantom power is typically using about 7 to 10 watts. That's about the same amount as a an LED light bulb. If you take that over time, you multiply that through a 10 year period of having just one of the say 10 items in your house plugged in that are phantom power,. That can be running $2,010 over a 10 years period. And that's figured at a rate of 23 cents a kilowatt hour.
