When we have an attachment to some one, our moods are regulated by that person. One of the ways that really worked for me with my break up is to engage in impostor hits. Re read old text messages as if you were reading it for the first time. Put yourself back into that mind frame. Reread old demails. If you have old vidios, watch those. But be very mindful that through these reenactments of the past, you are not idealizing it,. Instead looking at these communications as evidence as to why the two of you weren't completely compatible.
