In 19 69, suharto oversaw a clearly fake plebisite where the a papuan supposedly overwhelmingly supported intigration into indanesia. East timor was a portuguese colony up until the early 19 seventies. And it wasn't until the end of the salazar dictatorship that the new post dictorial portugal agreed to grant independence to east timor.
