The president has been playing around with right-wing conspiracy theories in QAnon for some time. It does seem that these fringe conspiracy theories have now more than metastasized into something that he knows about and is actively pushing. He's always been about trying to figure out where his base is, and then his base becomes more and more kind of conspiratorial.
