The Importance of a Good Funeral
As a dynastic asian carries on, we're learning more about what they expect to happen. From a middle-class sort of New Kingdom-type point of view, after about 1550 BCE, we have scrolls put into the tombs. These show us that the middle-class Egyptians expect after they've been mummified. If all goes to plan, you will eventually be judged pure in heart and you will enter the field of reason or the Kingdom of Osiris. And when you're there, you will then be expected to work for the God Osiris. There are pictures of this on tomb walls and some people look quite happy and some people looking slightly less happy.
