It wasn't just like having a good self esteem, where you're happy and love yourself. No, he was insufferable. Combining everyone loving him and telling him how good looking he was with the admonishment that he never knows himself,. And you have a completely vapid, arrogant and cruel person. You should not jump out of bushes strangers without said stranger's consent. Just don't do it.
