The Importance of Phonemic Transcription
A phoneme is the sort of platonic ideal of a sound and then phonetics or how it's actually realized. So in some cases you need to kind of balance that idea with also the idea of will people be able to pronounce it. No one just reading from the romanization will pronounce your conlang correctly without some instruction, but still. It's something to consider.
