The Civil Rights Movement of the 19 Sixties in the United States

Most african americans lived in the 11 states of the nineteenth century, civil war era confederacy. Many immigrant communities that had arrived approximately a generation earlier were still also mostly minority and marginal communities. The roosevelt administration took several measures to reach out both  to immigrant communities and to african an communities. They were terribly effective.
